Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing is a skin treatment best performed during the cooler months. It helps your skin—both the surface layer (epidermis) and deeper layer (dermis)—look firmer, smoother, and more radiant.

Q-switched and picosecond lasers are the gold standard for tattoo removal, especially for black ink tattoos that are common among younger patients seeking a change or correction. These lasers target the pigment in the tattoo without significantly affecting surrounding skin, breaking down ink particles into smaller fragments that your body can naturally eliminate.

During the procedure, ultra-short pulses of light at specific wavelengths (usually 1064 nm for black ink) are delivered to the tattooed area. Most patients feel a quick snapping sensation, like a rubber band lightly hitting the skin, which is tolerable and transient. Multiple sessions are usually required, spaced 6–8 weeks apart, to achieve optimal clearance while minimizing risks such as scarring or hypo/hyperpigmentation.

The treatment is also highly effective for removing skin spots, including sun-induced lentigines and other pigmented lesions, making it a versatile option for young patients seeking a clearer, more even complexion.

The treatment is suitable for all skin types, but younger skin often responds faster due to higher regenerative capacity. After each session, temporary redness, swelling, or slight bruising may occur, typically resolving within a few days. A diligent post-treatment routine—including sun protection, gentle cleansing, and avoiding picking at the treated area—maximizes results and safety.

Results vary depending on tattoo age, ink density, color, and location. While black inks respond best, older or layered tattoos may require more sessions. Combining laser therapy with skincare products that support healing and reduce inflammation can further improve outcomes.

After treatment: The treated area may form light scabs that naturally slough off within 5–10 days. Keep the area clean, moisturized, and protected from sun exposure. Avoid tanning or harsh exfoliation during the healing period to prevent pigmentation changes.
